Case Study – Résidence Bleu Horizon: A Successful Transition to a Quality and Cost-Effective Newspaper
Since September 2024, the Bleu Horizon residence, located in Rouyn-Noranda, has undertaken an ambitious project: modernizing its internal newspaper while reducing its costs. This need was felt when the Cogir group came under the management of the Cogir group, a change that the residence wanted to mark by creating a newspaper in the group’s colours, reflecting this new dynamic.
A logistical challenge and a strategic adaptation
Before our collaboration, the residence carried out the layout and printing of its newspaper in-house, a time-consuming and expensive task, with sometimes uneven results. The objective was therefore clear: to offer a better quality newspaper, without increasing the costs and workload of the internal team.
This partnership also represented a logistical challenge for AlloCharles. Until then, our services were mainly deployed in Quebec’s major cities. Extending our offer to Rouyn-Noranda involved a reorganization of our delivery and logistics system, in order to ensure:
- Consistent quality of service, regardless of the location of the residence
- Punctual deliveries, without compromising on deadlines
- Increased flexibility, with multiple distribution options in the event of an incident

Thanks to our support, Bleu Horizon now finances between 60 and 76% of its newspaper each month thanks to local partners and an optimised business model. The printed, age-friendly version remains the main medium, while a digital version is sent to families every month, helping to maintain a valuable intergenerational link.
