Case Study – Marc-Aurèle Residence: A Successful Transition to Digital
The Marc-Aurèle residence embarked on an innovative initiative in September 2024 by adopting a quarterly, primarily digital newspaper for its residents. This is a unique project in several ways: not only is it our first quarterly newspaper, but it is also the first residence to make a significant transition to a digital format, while maintaining a print version for those who wish to access it.
A tailor-made adaptation for modern communication
From the outset, our team worked closely with the residence to design a newspaper tailored to the needs of its residents and their families. The challenge was twofold: maintaining accessibility for seniors while leveraging the benefits of digital technology to facilitate the newspaper’s distribution and interactivity.
The first edition was published in October 2024, and six months later, two editions have already been published. Each issue highlights:
- Events and activities at the residence
- Thematic articles on well-being and health
- Testimonies and portraits of residents
- Offers and partnerships with local businesses
The switch to digital also made it possible to share the newspaper with residents’ families, thus strengthening intergenerational ties and transparency about life within the residence.
A viable and promising economic model
One of the project’s greatest successes lies in its self-financing. Thanks to partnerships with local businesses and suppliers with ties to the residency, we were able to cover 100% of the costs of the first editions. While this situation may change over time, we remain confident that this partnership model will be able to finance 90 to 100% of future editions.
Towards an even more interactive digital version in 2025
This project opened the door to new opportunities for AlloCharles. The transition to digital has pushed us to rethink and improve our tools. In 2025, we plan to introduce an interactive and personalized version of the digital newspaper, offering residents an even more engaging experience.
